What you can do:

  • Include young people in decision making and activity planning.
  • Use problem-solving activities to help youth apply their decision-making skills to a variety of situations.

It is important for youth to be able to make friends and know how to be a good friend.

  • Challenge kids to reach out to newcomers and others who may not have friends.
  • Pay attention to how young people interact with each other, and provide assistance to those who need help with friendship skills.
  • Provide opportunities for peers to help one another.
