4-H and the Missouri State Fair

4-H exhibits and competitions are part of the fun of the Missouri State Fair.  You won’t want to miss this special event – visit the 4-H building to see the projects of our 4-H youth or catch the judging competitions.  Whatever your niche, there is something for everyone.  Bring the family!

 

Located at the intersection of Highways 50 and 65, and less than 20 miles south of I-70, Sedalia is roughly an hour from Kansas City, Columbia and Jefferson City.

 

Note:  2010 State Fair 4-H Catalog Information should be available in May 2010!  There will be no catalogs printed.

Show Me 4-H Wares

The 2nd Annual Show Me 4-H Wares booth is accepting applications for young entrepreneurs to sell their 4-H products and services at the State Fair.  Any 4-H member who will have a project on display at the 2008 Missouri State Fair is eligible to apply.

Saturday, August 14

·         International Specialty Demonstrations

·         Egg Specialty Demonstrations Contest

 

 

Sunday, August 15

·         Pork Specialty Demonstration Contest

·         Soyfoods Specialty Demonstration Contest

·         Clover Kid Day

Clover Kids are encouraged to bring their projects to the 4-H Building any time on Sunday.  There will be opportunity to visit with someone about their project and leave it for display throughout the day.  Projects are then picked up any time on Sunday.

 

In addition to activities designed for the younger fair goers, Clover kids are invited to present demonstrations in the building.

 

Monday, August 16

·         Chicken BBQ Contest (a.m. only)

 

Tuesday, August 17

·         4-H Dog Show – Mattewson Arena

·         Military Appreciation Day

4-H and Operation: Military Kids invite military families to join in activities designed with a military theme including writing notes and letters to deployed service members, making patriotic bracelets, spin art and more. 

·         Rockin Readers

Children of deployed military members are invited to the Electric Theater to be filmed while reading a book, singing a song or doing a dance for their loved one.  They will leave the 4-H Building with a CD ready to send.

·         Agri-Missouri Foods Demonstration  Contest
